Fashion is all about mixing, matching and layering clothes to make them your own. We layer cardigans under jackets, bracelets with watches and necklaces on top of necklaces on top of necklaces. So why not rings? And I’m not talking about “stackables” which usually thin rings that are sold together for wearing together. This is a more personalized version, a simple trick to amp up your jewelry box without buying a thing!
The idea originally spawned for me because of a favorite aquamarine piece that kept being mistaken for an engagement ring. Reluctant to give up this gorgeous gift from my mother, I decided to try pairing it with a couple of others she had passed down to me over the years. And voila! My signature ring stack was born (bottom photo).
TIPS FOR STACKING WITH STYLE:
* Small rings pack more punch when paired together than they do alone.
* Try pulling a few rings from your jewelry box and piling them up on one finger for a look that is as personal as it is stylish.
*This works just as well with bands as gemstones. Experiment with various combos to find what works.
* This concept is also a great way to keep a big ring in place. Just stick a smaller band on top of a cocktail ring that may be a bit wobbly and voila! A perfect fit.
Now go dig through your jewelry box and rediscover some old faves! Happy Stacking :)
